The main research areas developed by the Environment and Forest Resources Department are shown in the present Section
The Environment and Forest Resources Department of the Renewable Energy Research Institute has as main long-term objectives the research on the estimation of the net productivity of the ecosystems and the resilience of them as a consequence of climate change. Likewise, it also focuses on forest management as a means of adapting to change, to favor persistence thanks to the support of both non-resilient and resilient masses. The renewable approach to biomass is treated from the point of view of energy plantations, as well as all aspects related to the environment that allows the existence of vegetation, the soil.
