ccording to the Ruling of 04/04/2016 of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, on delegation of responsibilities of the Chancellor for different matters and institutions, the Vice-chancellor for Research and Scientific Policy oversees:

  • Responsibilities regarding carrying out scientific policy, promotion and communication of research and bibliographical resources for research.
  • The responsibilities regarding research staff and research staff   trained at the University of Castilla-La Mancha as foreseen in Law 14/2011, of the 1st of June, for Science, Technology and Innovation, in the University Statutes and the regulation resulting from application of these.
  • Authorization for projects and research aids and signing agreements related to research.
  • It is empowered to provide grants and research aids, as well as regarding those who benefit from these.
  • Responsibilities in doctorate matters and to make judgements on how many appeals are made against rulings the university takes regarding the system for doctorate students, except when these judgements or actions have been made by the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Scientific Policy.
  • Responsibilities regarding the organization and creation of university research institutions and mixed research institutions at the University of  Castilla-La Mancha, as well as other research centres.
  • Powers and responsibilities in academic discipline matters as well as disciplinary power regarding research staff except for applying penalties for very serious offences.
  • In general, as many powers bestowed upon it by the Chancellor within the field of research and scientific policy at the university according to the legislation in force, the University Statutes and other applicable regulations.
